A lie it sound, to the ears when someone say “You are cute”, or “you are beautiful black man”. Gassing me up, I think? Rushing to the nearest reflective object just to see what it is they see on me that is, beautiful? They find me beautiful because they don’t know me. They are not, me. I am, me, so I will say what I see is a flaw in me is, ugly. To them it’s beauty. Pausing in front of the mirror for awhile I stopped looking at how I physically look and focused my attention to how I think of myself. A flaw isn’t a flaw until you say it is. You are not ugly until you say you are ugly. So what someone say is beautiful from their perspective is because they believe it to be, and I have to take in account how I think about myself determines how I feel about myself. So, I am beautiful, I am amazing, I am strong, I am love, I am attractive. —Shakkan Kan—
